Comic-Con inspired collaborations and releases are a dime a dozen. Every brand out there tries to hop the cultural wave that is the weekend-long conference in sunny San Diego to help shell out more products. Mostly, they fall flat. But some hit the nail right on the head. Take this special edition G.I. Joe L-2B Scout Bomber Jacket from Alpha Industries, Hasbro, and BAIT for example.
Built for July evenings out in the Gaslamp section of San Diego, this non-fill matte nylon shell jacket boasts a wild G.I. Joe pop-art graphic print on the back. Not looking to wear your love for Hasbro’s classic action figure on your sleeve? Not to worry. The jacket is reversible, featuring a woodland camo yoke on the other side for more understated wear. Like all other Alpha Industries bombers, the cigarette pocket on the left hand of the jacket features a pull tag. For a little bit of extra patriotic flair (as if the muscled-up action hero firing two guns wasn’t enough) The rib-knit collar, cuffs, and waistband all feature a red, white, and blue color way. To top it all off, Alpha Industries is also rolling out a miniature version of the jacket on a special edition of a G.I. Joe Duke Collectable.
